Carol from the USA I prune my (indoor) Ficus as I would shrubs and trees in the garden. I have had it for 15 years and it is fabulous. Just prune out excessive or awkward branches but make sure you keep the shape you want.

Encourage plenty of fruit-bearing stems by shortening new shoots in late spring when five leaves have formed. Don't forget: Only pea-sized embryo fruits, clustered around shoot tips, will over winter. Larger ones, still hard and unripe in late autumn, won't pull through.
