Peace Lilly
Annie from the USA

Peace lillies do not need much light at all and if any only indirect. They also require less water if shaded, more water if more light. I only water mine when they droop. My grandmother always said to get them to bloom you had to stick them in a closet.

Peace lillies leaves will turn brown when the air is too dry. Try to spray them with tepid water once a week with a hand mister. Once the plant stops struggling to maintain health, it will flower. Keep a good fertilizer in your water. I like to use Miracle Grow.

"... now it won't bloom. The leaves are healthy..."
Try putting your peace lily near a brighter window, the light will help to produce the blooms. Please remember not to put it in direct sun, it will burn the plant. Also try fertilizing the plant with an allpurose plant food.

Answer to rich's question about wanting to place his peace lilly in the bathroom, to keep it away from the sunlight. Rich i'll tell you what may think is a good idea. Purchase a large clear vase, depending on size of your lilly, and listen i'm not crazy, shake off all the dirt from around the roots. Then place the roots in the vase, fill the vase with water and every 2 months or so add miracle grow to the water. You may want to add a beta fish to the vase, they seem to love the nutrients from the plant. i've had mine for 5 years now and its looking as good now as the day I bought it.

Peace Lillies can be put outside in late sping. I put mine out in the shade until cool weather.

Margaret from the USA Many of you have questions about peace lilies. . . I've never had problems with my large one. They don't need any direct sunlight, just some light. I keep mine moist, but if the leaves turn yellow/brown, I know I've either under or overwatered it (this is typical in many plants). I've also found that my lily is happy when I wipe off its broad leaves every few weeks. Mine puts out new leaves but rarely flowers.
