Rose of Sharon
Yourgarden.com's Specialist - Marian

To grow new Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) try using the seeds. After blooming you get green seedpods and after a while they dry and will be brown. They fall off the shrub (tree) or you can pop them off by yourself. Inside the seedpods you find a lot of dark brown seeds. So try it and you get more Roses of Sharon.

Philip Swindells from the UK Hibiscus syriacus is easily increased from short cuttings of unflowered growth taken during the summer.Cuttings torn away with a heel of old wood root quite readily. The problem with seeds is that they do not necessarily reproduce exactly as the parent plant.
Marjorie from the USA

When leaves turn yellow on most any plant, it usually means too much water, or too little. Too much sun, or too little.
