Spruce
Lisa from the USA

I live in zone 6 (Boston), I have had very good luck with my Dwarf Alberta Spruce on the south side. It is in direct, full sun most of the day....still going strong.

In response to the not-so-blue Blue Spruce from Ricky in Canada. Placing rusty nails or razor blades in the soil and around the tree will help you get the blue back into your Spruce. This also works great for Hydrangeas helping them keep their beautiful bright colors.
Thanks Carla - but please be careful with the razor blades! Ed.

- Spruce-alburnum/mite: symptoms are, first the needles turn into yellow and then brown after that they fall off.
or
- Green spruce lice: the needles turn also yellow then brown after a long time they also fall off.

The best way against those two diseases are to spray with a pesticide. Ask by a local garden store what they have of pesticide for your dwarf Alberta spruce.
