I would like to know when the best time to move my bleeding heart to a new location. This is the second year in my garden, and it is getting too big for the area where I have it. I don`t want to divide it, I just want to move it to a different location out of the garden. I have heard that the early spring or late fall is best. It is doing very well, and I would hate to do anything to harm the plant. Thanks for your advice!

I recently planted a bleeding heart and remembered part of a story. As you peel the flower apart, there are 2 slippers, 2 ice skates, and I cannot remember the rest. ANY HELP? And what is the story behind this story? I would like to pass the story to my kids, but I can`t remember it!

I have 3 bleeding heart bushes, that were planted over 10 years ago. They are still blooming beautifully, however they grow so fast and are bushing out so much they are taking over half the garden. Since the bushes have been here so long, I`m afraid to dig them up and put them in a new location (We would like to plant one of them in my moms yard) and they need thinned-when do/and how do I thin them? They are beatiful but taking over the garden.

bleeding heart bushes are very easy to divide. Dig deep under roots and separate them in as many clumps as you want, early spring is best but can be done in late fall also.

I have a Bleeding Heart Bush that I purchased in spring this year from Soulard Market in St. Louis, Mo. I want to know why mine is dying and if they need to be in sun, shade, or part sun\shade. Please help. Thanks.

I used to have one in a partial sun/shade area that grew very large. Till my Chihuahua decided to lay in it and pee on it. Then it died. :)

They die down when done flowering. It should emerge again in the spring. Mine do fine in shade/partial shade.

partial shade with rich, organic, moist soil. Will tolerate full sun if given enough moisture. Does not like wet soil in the winter or dry soil in the summer. Mulch plants for the first winter so they will become established. Go into the search engine and type in "Bleeding Heart". This is where I got the above information
