Ficus Tree

Jim Gilmer from USA asks:
The leaves are all of a sudden falling off rapidly -- the tree has not been moved in the last 10 years -- nor has anything changed with the temperature of the house, etc. What could be wrong? And what can be done? The tree, otherwise, looks healthy. Thank you.

doug mihoky from usa asks:
Hi,
My question is: How can I eliminate the berries from growing on my ficus trees? They make a miseaable mess around the yard and driveway. Is there something that can be injected into the trunk of the tree? Or is there only spray?
Thanks for your answer....

Cristina Varga from USA asks:
All over Miami, Florida the Ficus is dying. The white fly from China came on a ship to the Miami River and has invaded. It`s killing off the trees that are part of Miami`s beauty. My ficus is small and about 10 years old (a gift from a relative who`s passed on). I`ve kept it trimmed to 3 feet. While the larger trees and bushes are loosing leaves daily, my ficus has lost only a few. I read there`s a solution to help the Ficus fight back. Can you help?

Hello Varga,
The ficus trees around my house have lost most of their leaves too. I found this website that provides a solution. I am going to try the Imidacloprid solution and see what happens.

Hi, I have done this several times and the cuttings take well and grow into trees. Just cut a healthy branch from the tree and place it in a glass or vase of water and place it in a very well lit area until it roots and then plant it in good potting soil.

Prune only to maintain desired bush size, heading back to promote branching. Keep 3 - 5 leaders, removing suckers. Or to prune immediately after the main crop is harvested, or with late-ripening cultivars, summer prune half the branches and prune the remainder the following summer. Because the crop is borne on terminals of previous year`s wood.
