Last year,
Elm House Nurseries’ Impatiens ‘Seashells Yellow’, a choice
busy Lizzie performed well and this year, a new peach form of it
takes the accolade. Ht: 20.5-25.5cm (8-12in). There are other varieties
– ‘Apricot’, ‘Tangerine’, ‘Papaya’ and ‘Passion’ – too. 6 plants,
one of each variety cost £8.95, while 18 plants, 3 of each variety,
cost £21.85. Delivery: from April.
Plant any
one colour in a patio pot or half barrel and fringe it with Thompson
& Morgan’s Bacopa ‘Olympic Gold’ (mentioned above).

Treating you
to an incredible 1.2m (4ft) cascade of a plethora of weather-resistant
blooms, Suttons’ ‘Sky Blue’ Surfinia petunia is a variety
that will be decking my baskets for the new millennium. Other varieties
you’ll want to grow again are ‘Brilliant White’, ‘Hot Pink’, ‘Violet
Blue’ and ‘Pink Vein’.
Five plants:
one of each variety cost £7.25 and 10 plants, two of each variety,
£11.75. Last order date: 31 March. Delivery: mid to late April.
Unwins also
